EYE PALETTES & KITS
Eye palettes are a great way to play with eye shadow colour and create the look you’re going for without having to reach for multiple, individual eye shadows. M·A·C offers a wide range of eye palettes in an array of colours, textures, finishes and colour themes. The M·A·C Art Library eye shadow palettes come in a variety of colour themes that can be used to create anything from dramatic midnight smoky eyes to a neon sunset look.
Brown eyes are complemented by almost any colour. Cool blues, plums and greens work well and can add a dramatic effect to light-to-medium brown eyes. If you’re going for a more neutral look, play with nude or burgundy shades, such as what’s found in the Eye Shadow x 9: Semi-Sweet Times Nine palette.
The best eye shadow palettes for darker brown eyes should feature rich, bright colours, like violet or silver. Use your favourite colour along your lower lash lines and all over your lids to enhance your eye shape and complete the look.
Natural blue eye colours can range from deep ocean blue to icy grey. Earth tones, like the colours used in the Eye Shadow x 9: Amber Times Nine palette, are a perfect match for all shades of blue eyes. Blending and layering light shades of brown, orange, peach and blue can make blue eyes stand out.
Smoky eye shadow palettes with metallic finishes are a great way to create a dramatic look that makes blue eyes pop.
Green eyes tend to be naturally bright, so you don't need to contrast them too much with bold colours. Instead, opt for soft palettes that include brown, charcoal, grey and forest green eye shadows for green eyes, like the Eye Shadow x 9: Dusky Rose Times Nine palette. Green eyes look great when paired with pinks, taupes or earthy shades with red undertones or gold highlights, while purple shades, from lavender to eggplant, add a rich contrast to a look.
If you want a more dramatic effect to bring out green eyes, we suggest playing with shimmery brown and charcoal grey eye shadows during the day. For a more elaborate finish, try blending colours such as muted purple, pastel pink, wine red and rose gold to make your eyes stand out even more at night.
